Drew McIntyre reveals the one thing he’ll never make fun of his old rival CM Punk about.
During his recent appearance on the INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet podcast, former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre almost broke down in tears speaking about the passing of his pet cat, Chaz. He shared how hard it was to say goodbye to his pet after spending 14 years together.
“Family’s good. Everyone’s coming for ‘Mania, but we lost Chaz. Ahh, it sucks. He had long-term liver disease for a long time, and finally, we knew it’s getting to the point he’s going to be gone soon. You know, the pads down in the house, and he was going to the bathroom outside of them. But he was still lying with us and purring, and we just knew that the end was close, and that really sucked,” Drew McIntyre said. “Like, let me get Lap of Love (an animal hospice that provides in-home animal euthanasia services) come out and try to do it in the house, make it a little easier. It was not easier; it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.”

Speaking further, Drew McIntyre noted that losing a pet is one thing he’ll never make fun of CM Punk about. He shared that his heart broke for Punk and AJ Lee when their pet dog Larry passed away.
“That’s one thing I’ll never make fun of Punk for. When Larry was gone, my heart broke for him and AJ because those little guys are just full of love. But yeah, we’ve not posted about it because we just can’t bear ourselves to talk about it, so it’s the first time I’ve talked about it, and I don’t care if I get emotional on camera. It really hurts that bad, and I miss the little guy,” Drew McIntyre said.
“Especially with pets (on losses not being easy), like I mean, it was your family and friend, it freaking sucks. You can talk to your friends about your mates and stuff, kind of remember that time he was an idiot, and he’d done this stupid crap and pissed us off, and you laugh for your mates, but the dogs and cats and the likes, they’re just full of love. Especially if you earn their trust. The dogs are there, give you that love all the time. The cats, if you earn the trust of a cat, there’s nothing like it. They’re like a partner, and he was our emotional support buddy for 14 years,” Drew McIntyre said.
Larry was apparently pitched as a potential topic in Punk’s feud with Roman Reigns. However, a recent report suggested that the dog’s passing was too dark a subject to broach and the company opted to go in a different direction.
